| MARTIN | Why I want to write | |||
|
Have you ever talked to yourself? Debated the issues of life with your heart,
whilst journeying the endless avenues and highways of your mind? Have you
ever let your thoughts wander so far from their purpose that it took a second
or two to draw them back to reality? Or have you ever told yourself a little
white lie and then told another to cover it up? That is why I want to write. I find myself in a constant daydream; searching and challenging my mind. I have always written poetry, both light-hearted and from the heart, but having recently started to collect these bits and pieces of work together, I am starting to believe that writing could be an escape valve for the things that go in the depths of my world. I have created this web page in order to try and break into doing the thing I believe I am most suited to. Ultimately, in my wildest dreams, I would love to write for a living in contrast to talking for a living as I currently do. By this I mean that I am a Sales Executive and I am convinced that I work too hard doing something, although I donÍt dislike, I could think of far better ways to spend my time. Finally, the thought of being published inspires me and the chance of spending each day writing rather than knocking on doors puts a smile on my face and joy in my heart. But more than these - there is in my head and on various bits of paper around the house, (one of which contains the first paragraph of this article) a story. It is the story of a man with a lot on his mind and if I could get his story published, well ... Martin Gladdish - January 2002 |
